Project Description: This federally-funded project will construct the borrow embankments at Kipnuk Airport to provide the foundations for a 18 m x 975 m runway on a 45 m x 1,155 m safety area; a new taxiway, aircraft parking apron, aviation support area and a new segmented circle. A boardwalk with a bridge will be constructed to route existing access to the community cemetery around the new borrow embankment. Drainage in the vicinity will be rerouted to insure adequacy and maintenance of adjacent habitats.
